Hal Cooley serves as Strategic CFO at Telos Private Office, leading M&A advisory and capital markets work helping entrepreneurial families and businesses raise capital, create value, and execute transactions.
Hal brings more than a decade of investing and finance experience to the firm. Prior to Telos, he spent over seven years with Sovereign's Capital in their Private Equity Practice, helping deploy ~$450M in equity behind outstanding leadership teams building defensible value in growth markets. Hal served on the portfolio company boards of Basesix Systems, Gaskins+LeCraw, and Brindlee Fire Services and helped facilitate multiple exits across PE Funds I and II. Hal began his career with SunTrust Bank in Atlanta covering technology, healthcare, and business services clients for the commercial bank.
Hal currently serves on the board of the Talents Foundation, which equips business owners to run their companies with Biblical values through training, advising, and capital. He is the co-founder and member of the planning committee for the Webb Simpson Challenge, a youth golf outreach event held annually for the last 16 years in Pinehurst, NC. An Eagle Scout, Hal holds a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Finance from North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management. Hal and his wife, Maddie, live in Smyrna, GA with their daughter Frances, and two beloved dogs Lulie (English Setter), and Murphie (GSP).
